Your walk matters!

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. -John 8:12 KJV

As I read these words I cannot help but to be thankful to God. To think that Jesus was sent to this world to be the example of how I could walk. If you are a believer in the good news just like me, I am sure that you can relate that living a life in Christ is more challenging.

Jesus in this portion of scripture is described to us as the light of the world. To think that as believers He is our light. The fact that we no longer have to live in darkness is because we have been given the most perfect example of how to live a life of freedom and honor unto God.

The key to us having the power is to found in the second part of the scripture. We have a choice to follow the path that Jesus has paved the way for us. He has already brought that path to life through His example.

What are the habits or actions that we can follow; pray, meditate on God’s law, help to heal the sick and destitute, and lead the lost back to the path of God. There are so many more that I can come up with but for the purposes of this blog I will stop here.

Just like Jesus we need to make sure to walk in constant communication with God, by the method of prayer. If you call yourself a christian and you have a weak prayer life I would share that you are handicapping yourself from living in the complete power and authority that God desires you to possess.

Next is meditating on the Word. God has designed a very simple and practical method to communicate to His children. He was so careful that he even used Spirit filled men to write and organize the complete works into one book for publication. The Bible truly is the living and breathing word of God.

Our job as believer’s is to show this dark world that they too can be the light, if they choose to live for Jesus. There are no shortcuts in this process. Jesus is the one person who empowers lives to be changed and transformed forever. Our choosing to share this word with complete faith, will then gives others the courage that they will need to begin to believe as well. Its in this belief that we as God’s children will begin to be releasers of God’s miracle working power to see the lost set free and the sick healed. The lost is depending on us to begin to live with the same power that Jesus possessed.

Remember the lost will only follow those who they see walking out a better life. Otherwise whats the point of them choosing to follow Christ and live as the light.

The last thing I would like to share is how the life we lead needs to be full of light. Our lives are designed to be a reflection of God. When we are full of love, light, and God’s Spirit we are now empowered to live a life of victory that will cause satan to be defeated.

My prayer is that all who read this would be encouraged to follow hard after the example that Christ has given us and through your obedience you would see God be fathful to convict the lost and bring healing to those who are in need of it.

God bless,
Vando
