Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. -John 8:12 KJV
As I read these words I cannot help but to be thankful to God. To think that Jesus was sent to this world to be the example of how I could walk. If you are a believer in the good news just like me, I am sure that you can relate that living a life in Christ is more challenging.
Jesus in this portion of scripture is described to us as the light of the world. To think that as believers He is our light. The fact that we no longer have to live in darkness is because we have been given the most perfect example of how to live a life of freedom and honor unto God.
The key to us having the power is to found in the second part of the scripture. We have a choice to follow the path that Jesus has paved the way for us. He has already brought that path to life through His example.
What are the habits or actions that we can follow; pray, meditate on God’s law, help to heal the sick and destitute, and lead the lost back to the path of God. There are so many more that I can come up with but for the purposes of this blog I will stop here.
Just like Jesus we need to make sure to walk in constant communication with God, by the method of prayer. If you call yourself a christian and you have a weak prayer life I would share that you are handicapping yourself from living in the complete power and authority that God desires you to possess.
Next is meditating on the Word. God has designed a very simple and practical method to communicate to His children. He was so careful that he even used Spirit filled men to write and organize the complete works into one book for publication. The Bible truly is the living and breathing word of God.
Our job as believer’s is to show this dark world that they too can be the light, if they choose to live for Jesus. There are no shortcuts in this process. Jesus is the one person who empowers lives to be changed and transformed forever. Our choosing to share this word with complete faith, will then gives others the courage that they will need to begin to believe as well. Its in this belief that we as God’s children will begin to be releasers of God’s miracle working power to see the lost set free and the sick healed. The lost is depending on us to begin to live with the same power that Jesus possessed.
Remember the lost will only follow those who they see walking out a better life. Otherwise whats the point of them choosing to follow Christ and live as the light.
The last thing I would like to share is how the life we lead needs to be full of light. Our lives are designed to be a reflection of God. When we are full of love, light, and God’s Spirit we are now empowered to live a life of victory that will cause satan to be defeated.
My prayer is that all who read this would be encouraged to follow hard after the example that Christ has given us and through your obedience you would see God be fathful to convict the lost and bring healing to those who are in need of it.
God bless,
Vando
You have to learn to follow before you can lead…. — Dr. Lee from Atlanta A&T (The Movie Drumline)
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. -Isaiah 44:6-8 — “God”

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. -Psalms 118:6-9
Paying the price to see the promises of God take place in your life is not always easy. But it is so worth it. I am so grateful for my wife and baby. I was just sitting here in bed feeding Emma Faith and thinking about when God told me my wife was pregnant. She did not even know.. Lol. Pay the price… Because God is always faithful. :-) -vando
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. -Ezekiel 18:30-32
I was grieved to hear the news of Pastor Joey’s passing… I will always remember him as a true man of God. He had faith and acted on it. I know my life and this world will never be the same. Pastor Joey’s character and exampleship just reminds me of what it truly means to be a Man of God. He was and will continue to be an inspiring leader in my life. My condolences and Prayers are with the Del Rio family. And I have confidence in knowing I will one day see Him again. -Vando
I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. -Psalms 30:1-5
St. Patrick was one of the first missionaries sent to Ireland by the Church. His purpose was to evangelize Ireland with the preachings of Christ. Today was started originally as a celebration of the man who brought good news. We know Christ to be that message. In celebration of St. Patrick the people were encoraged to celebrate with a feast… Where that turned into drinking i do not know… This just goes to show that satan will take anything that is good and purposeful and pervert it. -vando
and now im getting sued because my groove causes whiplash…
Zephaniah 3:19-20 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame. At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
God can only turn back the captivity on those who are truly His. Do not say you are His and act in a manner of not being worthy. Yes everyone does make mistakes. But its different when you choose to neglect God’s ways altogether and think you can still live as the world does.
Hope this does not seem harsh, but it is said with love. - Vando
Galatians 5:22-25 KJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
True fruit is not sour but sweet and appealing. Live accordingly in Christ and you will be living a sweet life in due time.
